On 30 March 2023, William Bache, Colonel, U.S. Army (Retired) spoke to BSoG students about his military career, including serving in the Vietnam War. During his talk, he drew similarities from his experience training local Vietnamese fighters to the training and equip programs in Afghanistan, where he later worked as a civilian. Colonel Bache situated his remarks within the framework of whether foreign interventions could bolster women’s economic inclusion in fragile and conflict-affected environments, the research question of the group report for students in the undergraduate capstone course and which is facilitated by his daughter, Christina Bache.
