Augusto Veloso

Augusto Veloso Leão


Augusto is a PhD Student in International Relations at Universidade de São Paulo, Brasil. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the same institution and a Bachelor degree in Social Communication Studies at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. 

He participates in the "Cosmópolis" research group on Local Migration Policy and the Working Group on Middle East and Muslim World at Laboratório de Estudos da Ásia, both in USP. He is a member of the Outreach Project "Educar para o Mundo", working with migrant human rights and actively participating in the 2013 Municipal Conference on Policies for Immigrants in São Paulo. 

He has experience in Political Sciences, specially International Politics, and Communication Sciences, acting on the themes of international migration, public policy, and public debate.​

He was granted with the Paulo Freire Program Scholarship at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2006.
