The Institute for European Studies, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in cooperation with The Miami-Florida European Union Center of Excellence, a partnership with Florida International University, and the Jean Monnet Chair of the University of Miami, cordially invite you to a book presentation and discussion on “The State(s) of the Union(s): Europe’s crisis and regional integration” by Prof. Dr. Joaquin Roy and Prof. Dr. Joachim Koops.

Joaquín Roy (Lic. Law, University of Barcelona, 1966; Ph.D, Georgetown University, 1973), is Jean Monnet Professor and Director of University of Miami European Union Center of Excellence. He has published over 200 academic articles and reviews, and he is the author or editor of 39 books. He has also published over 1,400 columns and essays. He was awarded the Encomienda of the Order of Merit by King Juan Carlos of Spain.

Joachim A. Koops (BA, LPC Oxon; MSc Turku, PhD Kiel) is Assistant Professor of Political Science and Academic Director of the European Peace & Security Studies (EPSS) Programme at Vesalius College, Free University of Brussels (VUB). He is also Senior Associate Researcher at the VUB’s Institute for European Studies and Director of the Global Governance Institute (GGI).
