IES at the Amsterdam Privacy Conference

Klaudia Majcher, a PhD researcher in the European Economic Governance Cluster, gave a presentation at the Amsterdam Privacy Conference, which took place from Friday 23 to Monday 26 October 2015. This interdisciplinary conference organised by the Amsterdam Platform for Privacy Research, an initiative of the University of Amsterdam, provided an opportunity for participants from diverse disciplines to discuss and exchange insights concerning challenging data protection and privacy questions. The keynote speeches were given by prominent data protection experts, such as Julie Brill, Helen Nissenbaum, Viktor Mayer-Schönberger and Peter Schaar.

Klaudia was one of the speakers in the panel on the Commercial Value of Privacy and her presentation provided a legal perspective on the enforcement of EU competition law in the ‘data economy’. The topic of this presentation is linked to her PhD project, which discusses interlinkages between competition law and data protection law in the EU digital market.
