Wednesday Webinars
The Institute for European Studies is proud to announce the inaugural season of its Wednesday Webinar Series. Beginning in September, we will be offering webinars on a diverse range of EU topics including; State-aid, Data Protection in the EU, and EU-China Relations. We will be hosting two sessions in the month of September and one session each month after that. The sessions will take place on a Wednesday between 12-13:15. Our goal is to create a schedule that is easy to follow for professionals. Just grab a laptop, some lunch, and make sure you have an internet connection. The Webinars can thus be followed from anywhere in the world.
Between 2011-2012, there will be four special and free webinars added to the IES Wednesday Webinar Series. Featuring topics on institutions, decision-making and key foreign policy issues and areas, the ‘Quo Vadis EU’ Webinars will form the interactive and online component of the IES’ newly established graduate Jean Monnet module, entitled ‘Quo Vadis EU’ .
- 'Quo vadis EU: The Dilemmas of Definitions'- 30 November 2011
- 'Quo vadis EU: Actors in Play: EU Institutions'- 11 January 2012
- 'Quo vadis EU: Foreign Policy Vehicles and Near Neighbourhood'- 07 March 2012
- 'Quo vadis EU: The EU Abroad in the World'- 25 April 2012
The broad objective of the ‘Quo Vadis EU’ Module is essentially to examine the foreign policy direction of the EU, locally, regionally and globally. As a key module within the IES EuroMaster curriculum, the ‘Quo Vadis EU’ module will run for three years, and is designed to stimulate the teaching and research of the IES in the area of EU foreign policy, while contributing to the quality of learning on EU issues in both mainstream graduate academia, and the non-academic community, in Brussels and beyond.
The ‘Quo Vadis EU’ Webinars’ will be hosted by the module instructors of the Jean Monnet course. Under the aegis of lifelong learning, each Jean Monnet Wednesday Webinar will allow members of the public and academics alike to benefit from the Jean Monnet commitment to excellence and life-long learning directly from their computer.
