Silviu Piros LL.B., B.Phil, holds a Master degree in European Integration and Development from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (summa cum laudae) and has joined the IES in September 2012. With the Educational Development Unit he has been working as a researcher on promoting the use of technology in education through online content development and support. Silviu is currently managing the IES ‘EU Modules’ platform and the IES webinars, and he is involved in the various face-to-face training sessions organized by the EDU.
Aside of that, Silviu is responsible for a number of EU funded projects. For the Jean Monnet Chair he is running a podcast series on EU Foreign Affairs, as well as a webinar series on EU Diplomacy. For the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, Silviu is currently developing an online module on EU Foreign Policy. He is also involved in a Jean Monnet Module ‘Quo Vadis EU?’ where he coordinates a webinar series on EU Foreign Policy.
Silviu’s research interests include the EU’s role as an international actor, with a focus on the Eastern and Northern Dimensions (the Arctic Region, energy security, sovereignty and disputed areas, frozen conflicts, foreign policy Europeanisation, EU Enlargement, etc.).
Silviu is also the Book Reviews Editor for the Politics and Governance Journal (Cogitatio Press)
