Marta Ottanelli joined IES in October 2014 as a visiting researcher of the European Economic Governance cluster. Her research focuses on coordination between National Regulatory Authorities and National Competition Authorities, with a specific focus on the energy, telecoms and financial services sectors.
She holds an LL.M. in European Law (2013) from the European Law School of Maastricht University; in her master thesis she discussed the need to harmonize private enforcement of EU Antitrust Law. After an internship at DG Competition – International Relations Unit (Spring 2014) Marta went back to private practice. She currently works as an associate in the EU competition law team of an international law firm in Brussels.
In addition to competition law she is interested in EU law, International law and procedural law.
