Prof. Dr. Georgios Terzis
Pr. Dr. Georgios Terzis is Associate Professor at Vesalius College and Senior Associate Researcher at the Institute for European Studies, Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
He did post-doctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania on Ethnopolitical Conflict Studies, he received his Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel, and he studied Journalism and Mass Communication in Greece, UK, USA and The Netherlands.
His research focuses on media and security governance, European media governance, and the development of pan-European media.
He has been teaching and doing research in journalism and communication departments of many universities for more than 15 years. He has also been involved in several international research projects and networks.
He has authored, co-authored and edited five books, 12 book chapters, and 15 refereed and non-refereed journal articles.
He is the founding Chair and currently the Vice-Chair of the Journalism Studies Section of the European Communication Research and Education Association.
He is an editorial board member of three academic journals and has been working as a reviewer for most of the major publishing houses in the communication science field, as well as the European Commission and the Council of Europe.
