Bruno De Vuyst studied at Antwerp and Columbia (N.Y.) law schools and worked for the World Bank, the United Nations and Citibank before retiring into private practice and teaching at VUB. He is a former member of the Brussels bar council and an elected representative of the Brussels Bar with the Order of Flemish Bar Associations.
At VUB, he is advisor, industrial policy and secretary-general of BI³ Fund N.V., the spin-off fund of VUB. He sits on the board of several life science and new materials spin-offs. He teaches entrepreneurship, intellectual property law and international (business and diplomatic) negotiations at Vesalius College.
He is a member of the board of editors of Intellectuele Rechten - Droits Intellectuels and of Ad Rem. In addition to his legal and management writings, he is a professionally performed playwright and a novelist, and chairman of the board of Raamtheater, a professional repertory company with two platforms in Antwerp.
