CV

Gloria González Fuster studied Law at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (1998-2006), Journalism at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, (1993-98, including a stay at the Université Paris VIII) and Modern Languages and Literatures at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (1998-2000). She first worked in the field of EU Affairs and Community Law information for different publications. In 2001 she joined the Citizenship Unit of the Education and Culture Directorate-General of the European Commission and in 2006 she moved with the same unit to the Executive Agency “Education, Audiovisual and Culture”. Her interest in music and, particularly, in innovative forms of distribution and intellectual property rights management, had meanwhile led her to reflect on the use of new technologies and data protection concerns. She joined the IES to contribute to the “Reflexive governance in the Public Interest (REFGOV): A thematic application in the field of data protection” project, which explores governance and collective learning issues in the field of EU data protection. REFGOV is a 6th European Framework Programme in Research and Development project.
