What our Students Say

"I attended the Summer School three summers ago. I was a politics student in Canada and I was focusing my studies on the European Union. Having the chance to participate gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of European politics more than I expected. It gave me the chance to apply the theory I learned in class. I did not know that one could learn so much within two weeks. The way European concepts were explained and the various speakers kept all of us interested during our stay. When I came back later to Canada, I was able to use the knowledge I acquired at the Summer School in my classes. My name is Marc-Antoine Morin, I had the chance to go to the Summer School and I strongly recommend you do the same!"

Marc-Antoine Morin

"I attended the Summer School in 2011. The group of participants consisted of young people from all over Europe who are interested in the EU decision-making process, which was very special. We had a great time together!
In the first week in Brussels we had lectures in the morning at the IES, given by experts (mainly from academia) and in the afternoon we visited the European Union institutions to experience the information from the lectures in real life! This is a very good formula.
The second week took place at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna. The lectures at the Academy were of a high quality and touched upon many topics related to the EU decision-making process. The simulation of two Council meetings at the end of the Summer School enabled us to get a feeling of how Council debates are organised and take place in real life.
Everything was very well organised! I can really recommend the Summer School to everyone who wants to know more about the EU decision-making process!"
