Project of Ernesto R.
Ernesto is working, for his thesis, on the interrelation between different lawmaking processes related to REDD+.
Using the multilateral level of REDD+ rulemaking as a parameter, Ernesto is looking into how rulemaking processes occurring at different scales, notably at the subnational level and at the private level, relate with the multilateral level from a legal perspective.
In this regard, Ernesto is drawing resources from legal theory on conflict of laws (which usually relates to private international law but, nonetheless, provides insights useful for this problem), on the relation between different legal orders (i.e. the seemingly never-ending debate between monism and dualism that permeates international legal scholarship) and, to a certain extent, fragmentation of international law.
