28 Jun 2013 11:30

The Institute for European Studies, in collaboration with the Global Governance Institute and the Centre for Conflict Resolution, kindly invites you to the Conference and Book launch “The European Union and Africa: from Eurafrique to Afro-Europa” on 28 June 2013 at 9.30.

Ambassador Torben Brylle, former EU Special Representative for Sudan said about this book: “This is a much needed, impressive and thought-provoking work on the development and diversity of the EU-Africa relations ... it raises the complex, but critical, key question: How can an EU-Africa partnership claim the future in a radically changing global environment? ... an essential collection”.

This Conference will be the occasion to discuss some of the issues raised by this book, like the relations of the European Union with Africa, from an historical, political, socio-economic and cultural point of view. This is a timely occasion to have a frank discussion and a constructive dialogue between scholars, policymakers, civil society groups, and the general public interested in Africa and Europe.
