&lt;div align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;On the 26th of March, The Institute for European Studies (IES) and the Institute for European Environmental Policy
(IEEP) are jointly organising a one day &lt;strong&gt;training seminar&lt;/strong&gt; on &amp;quot;&lt;strong&gt;The New EU
Climate Policies. Between Copenhagen and Cancun&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;quot;. The seminar will
present the international framework of climate change negotiations,
with a special focus on the EU climate policies. Furthermore, topics
such as ETS and carbon markets, as well as mitigation in developed and
developing countries will be addressed. The seminar will end with a
panel discussion on the outcomes of the Copenhagen summit and the EU&#039;s
international role, bringing together representatives from NGOs,
industry, European institutions and academia.&lt;br /&gt;

A new working paper has been published in the IES Working Paper Series. Nikki Slocum-Bradley, who is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for European Studies, is the author. &lt;br /&gt;Proposing a discursive approach to studying identity, this paper
presents Positioning Theory as a theoretical framework for
conceptualizing the construction of identity in discourse. The
Positioning Diamond is employed to analyse the discourse surrounding
the Danish Euro referendum.</description>

the context of the EU’s relationship with ACP States within the period
of the Cotonou Agreement (CA). It discusses and assesses a variety of
governance mechanisms, including the European Commission’s use of the
governance concept, EPAs, manifestations of partner preferences, the
EDF, the revision of the CA, and Fisheries Partnership Agreements.</description>

This paper claims that the right to property, as enshrined in Article P1-1 of the Human Rights Convention, could be used to challenge the limited environmental liability provisions of the international frameworks.
