Prof. Dirk Arts

Prof. Dirk Arts (Dr. Jur. Katholieke Universiteit Leuven; LL.M. University of Michigan) is a member of the Brussels Bar and partner with Allen & Overy Law Firm in Brussels where he specialises in competition law and regulation, as well as general EU law.

Before joining the Brussels Bar in 1997, he worked as an assistant at the Institute for European Law at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at Duke University.

From 1994 to 1997, he was référendaire (law clerk) to Judge Koen Lenaerts of the Court of First Instance of the European Communities in Luxembourg, now Judge at the Court of Justice.

He is a part-time LL.M. Professor at IES. His publications include Procedural Law of the European Union (2006, with K. Lenaerts, I. Maselis and R. Bray).

In addition to numerous publications in Dutch language law reviews, he has also authored articles in journals such as the European Law Review.
