This one-day training focuses on the impact of the European Union on migration issues. It examines, amongst others, the activities of the European Commission, recent legal and policy developments at the European Union level, and the Europeanization of migration and immigrant integration policies. Moreover, the seminar looks at the collaboration between the EU and other international organisations (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Organisation for Migration) on migration topics.
This 1-day training focuses on the impact of the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon on the European Common Foreign and Security Policy. It outlines the roles of the newly-created President of the European Council, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the emerging European External Action Service. Furthermore, the training examines the Common Security and Defence Policy and specifically the process of planning EU civilian crisis management interventions.
