This workshop, organised by Senior Research fellow at the IES Dr. Eva Gross, interlinks questions of the EU’s performance vis-à-vis its strategic partners with its approach to specific challenges: climate change, regional conflicts and failed states, migration, and development. Contributions to this workshop address these challenges from a number of viewpoints: the nature of the challenges, their interconnectedness, but also respective EU, Chinese, Indian, Brazilian and Russian approaches to tackling them. By contrasting different national approaches, viewpoints and proposed policy solutions, this workshop aims to generate research questions, establish synergies between researchers, and enable to formation of an expert community on this subject. click here for more information. | 23

The Institute for European Studies (IES) and the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) are jointly organising a one day training seminar on "The New EU Climate Policies. Between Copenhagen and Cancun". The seminar will present the international framework of climate change negotiations, with a special focus on the EU climate policies. Furthermore, topics such as ETS and carbon markets, as well as mitigation in developed and developing countries will be addressed.
