Research Colloquium: the EU and the Middle East
It is a common place to say that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict affects dramatically the whole of the Middle East region and conditions the relationships among the States of that area, but also that of these States with the rest of the world and very specifically the relationship with the EU. How is the EU responding?
The aim of this presentation is thus to explain the main aspects of the “never-ending” Palestinian-Israeli conflict and what is the EU’s contribution to its solution and to the general improvement of the political situation in the whole of Middle East region.
Prof. Antonio Bar Cendon is Professor of Constitutional Law and Jean Monnet Professor of Constitutional Law of the European Union at the Faculty of Law, University of Valencia. As of 15 September, Prof. Bar Cendon is a visiting scholar at the IES for the academic year 2010-2011.
