Environmental Studies: Environmental protection/preservation in conflict with other interests

The IES environmental cluster organizes cluster meetings to share the knowledge of each member of the cluster in given fields of environmental studies. These meetings are open to (VUB) students for the coming academic year.

The goal of this seminar is to reflect on the following question: is the protection of environmental interests ineluctably meant to clash with other interests?  An article that presents the divergences between the environment and agriculture, trade, industry, transport and tourism, and possible ways to establish convergence, will be discussed.
